Pumpkin recipes for the fall to satiate your cravings

Autumn is the season for "cooling off" the blazing heat of summer. It's all about the comfy snuggles, cold coffees and mouth-watering food. As this year's earthy sweet season arrives, pumpkin becomes more readily available everywhere. So, to satiate your fruity cravings, here is a lowdown of some delicious pumpkin dishes that you can easily make at your home.

1. Pumpkin Soup

Warming up with a bowl of pumpkin soup in the autumn is a tradition that never gets old. It's comforting, healthy and has a thick and creamy texture. So, grab a few small pumpkins and chop them into tiny chunks. Then, using two tablespoons of olive oil, two finely chopped onions, 700ml vegetable stock, and cream. You can cook yourself a relishing feast of soup. Just remember, the onions must always be glazed red before adding in the other ingredients!

2. Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll

Making cinnamon rolls is quite challenging, so take notes for this one! Firstly, you are required to heat milk and butter together in a pan. Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, you can mix three cups of flour, granular sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and salt. After making the dough, you can fill it up with this mixture and leave it to rise. For the last step, ensure the dough is rolled up and ready to go into the preheated oven. From here onwards, you can top the cinnamon rolls with your own choice of frosting.

3. Stuffed Pumpkin (vegetarian style)

As the name suggests, this recipe demands a pumpkin carved open with space to put in other ingredients. It's an ideal dish to serve at parties and fancy dinners. Just mix olive oil, apple, lemon juice, crushed chili flakes, roasted pecans, chopped parsley and pomegranate seeds in a pan, precisely in the order written. After the ingredients are heated, you can serve them in the carved pumpkin savouring for an amazing taste.

4. Pumpkin Pie

To make a great pumpkin pie, all you need is to combine the pulp with eggs, sweetened condensed milk, sugar, and a spice blend known as pumpkin pie spice. In the batter, you can use cardamom and vanilla bean. When the filling is prepared, you can place it in a pie shell and bake away! Don't forget the whipped cream on top, that's a must!

5. Creamy Pumpkin Pasta

Pasta and pumpkin? Sounds like an absolute dream. And it's not even as hard as it sounds because it just requires you to add a blended pumpkin paste to a tomato puree to make a special sauce. You can add more flavour through salt, spices, and cream by combining them. When the pasta is boiled, just add the sauce and garnish it with oregano and basil leaves!

Ta-da! Now, you're a cook too. So do try these at home while pumpkin is stocking up at markets.
